1. Local Hot Springs (Onsen)

2. Local Mountain Climbing for Great Views of Fuji and the Area

Mitsutoge
Mt. Mitsutoge is located between Fujiyoshida and Kawaguchiko and takes about 3-4 hours to climb, but the views are well worth it! There are at least three potential routes up the mountain either from the Kawaguchiko area or from Mitsutoge Station on the Fujikyu Line. For more information see “MyNihonBlog”.

Shakushiyama
Mt. Shakushiyama is located between Fujiyoshida and Oshino Village and can be completed in 2-3 hours. The climbing trail starts from Fudo-no-Yu Onsen, which is a fairly well hidden Hot Springs Hotel in the mountains. You’ll need a car or friendly local to get you to the start.
