Sightseeing at Chureito Pagoda
Please be aware of heavy and completely stopped traffic as well as little or no parking in the area. The International Affairs Desk recommends traveling by the Fujikyu Line (train) to Shimoyoshida Station, to avoid heavy automobile traffic.

Increased Popularity of Chureito Pagaoda

The iconic view of Chureito Pagoda and Mt. Fuji is becoming increasingly popular for visitors. Arakurayama Park is not equipped to accecpt heavy vehicle traffic: Local roads are narrow one-way streets, and parking is very limited. Due to increased traffic and the use of personal vehicles for travel, parking and traffic in the Chureito area has become very congested, especially on weekends. If you are traveling by car, do not expect to be able to park in the area without waiting several hours in traffic.

Use Fujikyu Line - Shimoyoshida Station

Arakurayama Sengen Park, where Chureito is located, is a 10 minute walk from Fujikyu Line Shimoyoshida Station. Save a lot of time and a big headache if you park your car at another location, such as Fujisan Station or Kawaguchiko Station, and take the train instead.
